Makha bucha days the second most important Buddhist festival and Buddhist holidays. This year fall on Friday 26th February 2021. In conclusion, Makha bucha day marks four auspicious occasions.

  1.  It was the full-moon day of the third lunar month.
  2.  1,250 disciples came to see the Buddha that evening without being summoned.
  3.  All of them were Arahants, enlightened disciples.
  4.  All had been ordained by the Buddha himself, therefore they were his direct spiritual descendants.

The Lord Buddha concluded his Dhamma Teachings and laid down the guidelines for his disciples to spread the Dhamma according to the same high standards. “The Ovada patimokkha”. These principles are: To cease from all evil, To do what is good, and to cleanse one’s mind.

In Thailand , It is prohibited to sell and consume alcohol on Makha Bucha Day and the students have activity offered rice and dry foods to monks at the school. This is promote Buddhist principles among the students, which they will carry with them as they grow up.

I usually go to make merit in early morning at temple near my place, feeding fishes, walk around the temples are make me feel strong energy. In night I go temple again for candlelight procession. I did like this every year to remind themselves of the Buddha teachings. What is your opinion about Buddha?  Let’s share with us.
